Our Desire
Our desire is to encourage believers to know God more deeply through the lifelong study of His Word and, by His grace, to grow in faithful worship, obedient discipleship, and loving service to Jesus Christ.
Our Call To Worship began as a personal pursuit of studying Scripture with greater care and understanding. That pursuit gradually developed into a broader vision of creating resources that encourage others to engage God’s Word thoughtfully, study it faithfully, and continue growing in the knowledge of Him throughout every season of life.
Our Governing Principles
Everything developed through Our Call To Worship is intended to be guided by the following convictions.
God Is the Center
The purpose of every study, course, article, song, poem, illustration, presentation, and teaching resource is not merely to increase biblical knowledge but to encourage believers to know, worship, love, and faithfully obey God.
Knowledge is never regarded as an end in itself. Rather, it serves the greater purpose of knowing the One who has revealed Himself through His Word.
Scripture Is the Authority
Scripture is God’s revealed Word and therefore serves as the final authority for everything taught through this ministry.
Human reasoning, historical investigation, literary study, theology, chronology, archaeology, original-language research, imagination, and creative expression are valuable servants. None, however, possesses authority equal to Scripture.
Where Scripture speaks clearly, it governs our conclusions.
Where Scripture allows legitimate differences among faithful believers, we seek to exercise humility, charity, and continued study.
Where Scripture is silent, we seek wisdom while resisting the temptation to speak with greater certainty than Scripture itself.
Study Is an Act of Worship
Romans 12:1–2 calls believers to present themselves to God as living sacrifices, describing such devotion as spiritual worship while commanding the continual renewal of the mind.
Likewise, Acts 2:42 portrays believers devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer.
These passages together illustrate that biblical worship encompasses the whole of life. The careful study of God’s Word is therefore understood not merely as an intellectual exercise but as part of a life devoted to knowing, loving, worshiping, and faithfully serving Him.
Growth Is Progressive
Because God often forms His people progressively throughout Scripture, we believe learning is ordinarily most effective when it builds carefully from one truth to the next.
For that reason, learning should neither sacrifice theological depth for simplicity nor pursue unnecessary complexity for its own sake.
Each lesson should build thoughtfully upon previous lessons, allowing understanding to mature steadily while remaining accessible to believers at different stages of spiritual growth.
Humility Is Essential
Every believer—including every teacher within this ministry—remains a lifelong student of God’s Word.
No teacher, ministry, tradition, or individual possesses exhaustive understanding of Scripture. Accordingly, our conclusions should remain open to refinement wherever Scripture itself demonstrates the need for correction.
Our confidence rests not in the infallibility of personal interpretation but in the enduring authority and truth of God’s revealed Word.
Methods Serve the Mission
Many studies developed through Our Call To Worship follow the chronological unfolding of biblical history because that method can help readers recognize the development of God’s redemptive work throughout Scripture.
Chronology, however, is understood as an educational method rather than a biblical requirement or the only faithful way to study Scripture.
Likewise, literary analysis, theology, historical research, original-language study, archaeology, visual communication, music, poetry, imagination, and other creative disciplines are employed only insofar as they assist believers in reading Scripture more carefully, understanding it more faithfully, and applying it more consistently.
Methods remain servants. Scripture remains the authority.
God Gives the Increase
No course, study, article, song, poem, presentation, or other creative resource possesses the power to transform the human heart.
Spiritual growth is the work of God through the Holy Spirit. Our prayer is simply that every resource will encourage faithful engagement with Scripture and remove unnecessary obstacles to careful study so that believers may know God more deeply through His Word and increasingly devote their lives to His worship.
The Local Church Matters
Our Call To Worship exists to serve believers by encouraging the faithful study of Scripture and lifelong discipleship. It is not intended to replace the ministry of the local church but to complement it through biblical teaching and educational resources.
We believe that God has established the local church as the ordinary community in which believers worship together, receive biblical instruction, exercise their spiritual gifts, encourage one another, and grow in faithful obedience to Christ.
Accordingly, we encourage every believer to become an active participant in a biblically grounded local church where God’s Word is faithfully taught and lived.
