The foundational biblical truths that guide every Bible study, course, and resource developed through Our Call To Worship.

Introduction

At Our Call To Worship, we believe the Bible is God’s revealed Truth and the foundation upon which this ministry stands. While faithful Christians may differ on many secondary matters of doctrine and practice, we are united by the foundational truths revealed in God’s Word.

The following Statement of Faith summarizes the essential biblical doctrines that guide every Bible study, course, and resource developed through Our Call To Worship. It is not intended to answer every theological question, but to declare the biblical foundation upon which this ministry is built.

1. The Holy Scriptures

We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired, Living, and Authoritative Word of God. It is the foundation of our faith, the guide for our lives, and the Authority for everything we teach, study, and publish through Our Call To Worship. We believe God gave His Word through the Scriptures so that people of every generation might know Him, draw closer to Him, and find Truth, hope, wisdom, and comfort through His Living Word.

We believe the Holy Scriptures are complete, trustworthy, and sufficient for teaching, correction, instruction, and training in righteousness. They reveal God’s character, His plan of redemption through Jesus Christ, and His will for His people. Therefore, the Holy Scriptures are the final Authority for our faith, our doctrine, and our daily lives.

2. The One True God

We believe there is One True God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These Three are distinct Persons, yet One God, equal in Divine nature, glory, majesty, power, and Authority. God alone is worthy of all worship, honor, praise, and obedience.

We believe God is eternal, unchanging, all-powerful, all-knowing, ever-present, perfectly holy, perfectly just, perfectly loving, and completely faithful. He is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and apart from Him nothing exists or continues to exist.

We believe God’s character is revealed throughout the Holy Scriptures and most fully through Jesus Christ. His sovereign plan of redemption demonstrates His holiness, justice, mercy, grace, and unfailing love. Because God does not change, His Truth, His promises, and His purposes remain steadfast throughout every generation.

3. Jesus Christ

At Our Call To Worship, we believe Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and fully man. Conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary, Jesus entered the world without ceasing to be God for the purpose of revealing the Father and fulfilling His perfect plan of redemption.

We believe Jesus Christ lived a sinless life in perfect obedience to the Father, willingly gave Himself as the once-for-all atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world, and was crucified, buried, and bodily raised from the dead on the third day according to the Holy Scriptures. Through His death and resurrection, He secured the only means by which sinful humanity may be reconciled to God.

We believe this reconciliation with God is personal and must be received individually through faith in Jesus Christ. We further believe God established the local church to encourage believers in their lifelong walk with Him through worship, fellowship, the teaching of His Word, prayer, and discipleship as demonstrated in Acts 2:42.

It is our purpose at Our Call To Worship to support that lifelong journey by helping people know God more deeply through the study of His Word. We welcome every individual regardless of background, church affiliation, or denominational tradition. Our desire is not to replace the local church, but to encourage believers through the faithful study of the Holy Scriptures so that the fruit of God’s Word may become increasingly evident in everyday life.

We believe Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven, where He reigns at the right hand of the Father and continually intercedes for His people. We believe He will personally, visibly, and gloriously return to fulfill God’s redemptive plan, establish His righteous Kingdom, and judge the living and the dead.

We believe Jesus Christ alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Through Him alone forgiveness of sins, reconciliation with God, and the gift of eternal life are made available to all who place their faith in Him. Therefore, we joyfully proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord, Savior, Redeemer, and the only Hope of the world.

4. The Holy Spirit

At Our Call To Worship, we believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, the Third Person of the Triune God, eternally one with the Father and the Son. He is active throughout the Holy Scriptures and continues His work according to the will of God.

We believe the Holy Spirit convicts the world concerning sin, righteousness, and judgment, drawing people to faith in Jesus Christ. Through His work, believers are regenerated, sealed, and indwelt as children of God.

We believe the Holy Spirit sanctifies believers throughout their lifelong walk with Christ, producing spiritual growth and conforming them to the image of Jesus Christ. He teaches, comforts, strengthens, and guides believers as they faithfully follow God’s Word.

We believe the Holy Spirit empowers believers for godly living, faithful service, and the building up of the Body of Christ. As believers walk in obedience to the Holy Scriptures, the fruit of the Spirit becomes increasingly evident in their lives, bringing glory to God.

5. Humanity

At Our Call To Worship, we believe humanity was uniquely created in the image of God and designed to live in fellowship with Him. Every person possesses inherent dignity and value because each is created by God and loved by Him.

We believe humanity willingly fell into sin through disobedience to God, bringing spiritual separation, death, and the corruption of God’s good creation. As a result, every person stands in need of God’s grace and is unable to restore that relationship through personal effort or good works.

We believe every individual is invited to receive the reconciliation made possible through the redemptive blood of Jesus Christ. Because all people are created in the image of God, we are called to love one another, proclaim the Gospel, and encourage one another toward faithful obedience to God’s Word.

6. Salvation

At Our Call To Worship, we believe salvation is the gracious gift of God, made possible solely through the life, death, burial, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. It cannot be earned through human effort, good works, religious observance, or personal merit, but is offered by God’s grace.

We believe salvation is received through faith in Jesus Christ alone. Through repentance and faith, those who trust in Him are forgiven of their sins, declared righteous before God, reconciled to the Father, and given the gift of eternal life. Salvation is the work of God’s grace from beginning to end.

We believe all who are born again are adopted into the family of God and are called to continual growth in Jesus Christ. Salvation is not merely the forgiveness of sin, but the beginning of a transformed life as believers learn to trust, obey, and follow God’s Word through prayer, faithful study of the Holy Scriptures, and a growing personal relationship with Him.

We believe spiritual maturity is cultivated as believers submit themselves to God’s Word and the work of the Holy Spirit. As they grow in faith and obedience, the fruit of God’s work becomes increasingly evident in their lives, bringing glory first to God, strengthening the believer, and equipping them to love others, serve the Body of Christ, and make disciples according to God’s calling for their lives. We believe true spiritual maturity is measured not by earthly recognition or position, but by faithful obedience, Christlike character, and a life that brings glory to God.

7. The Church

At Our Call To Worship, we believe the Church is the Body of Christ, composed of all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Christ alone is the Head of His Church, and every believer is united with Him and with one another through the work of the Holy Spirit.

We believe the Church is also the Bride of Christ, loved by Him, redeemed through His sacrifice, and set apart for His glory. As the Bride eagerly awaits the return of the Bridegroom, believers are called to live in faithful obedience, growing in holiness and reflecting the character of Jesus Christ until the day He returns.

We believe God established the local church as the primary community where believers gather for worship, prayer, fellowship, the teaching and preaching of God’s Word, discipleship, the observance of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, mutual encouragement, and the proclamation of the Gospel. Following the pattern established in Acts 2:42, believers are to devote themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayer. Through the local church, believers are strengthened in their faith, equipped for faithful service, and encouraged toward spiritual maturity.

We believe every believer has been uniquely gifted by God to serve within the Body of Christ according to His calling. As members of one Body, we are called to love one another, bear one another’s burdens, encourage one another, build one another up, and work together in fulfilling the Great Commission by making disciples of all nations.

Our Call To Worship exists to support—not replace—the ministry of the local church. Through faithful Bible study, discipleship, and biblical education, we seek to strengthen believers in their personal walk with Christ, encourage active participation within their local church, and equip them to glorify God by faithfully serving others and making disciples.

8. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper

At Our Call To Worship, we believe Baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by the Lord Jesus Christ for His Church.

We believe those who repent and place their faith in Jesus Christ are called to be baptized in obedience to His command. Throughout the New Testament, baptism follows repentance and faith, identifying believers with Jesus Christ and His death, burial, and resurrection as they publicly begin a life of discipleship.

We believe the Lord’s Supper was instituted by Jesus Christ as a continual remembrance of His sacrificial death until He returns. As believers partake together, they proclaim the Lord’s death, examine themselves, give thanks for His redeeming grace, and rejoice in the hope of His promised return.

We believe these ordinances were given by Christ to strengthen His Church, encourage faithful obedience, proclaim the Gospel, and continually direct believers to the finished work of Jesus Christ.

9. The Blessed Hope

At Our Call To Worship, we believe in the blessed hope of the personal, visible, and glorious return of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the time appointed by the Father, He will return to fulfill every promise of God, complete His redemptive plan, and establish His everlasting Kingdom.

We believe the dead will be raised, every person will stand before God in judgment, and Christ will judge with perfect righteousness and justice according to the Holy Scriptures.

We believe all who have placed their faith in Jesus Christ will dwell forever in the presence of God, where there will be no more sin, sorrow, suffering, pain, or death. God will make all things new, and His people will worship, serve, and rejoice in Him forever.

The certainty of Christ’s return gives believers enduring hope, steadfast faith, joyful perseverance, and confidence to faithfully proclaim the Gospel, make disciples, and live each day for the glory of God as we eagerly await the fulfillment of His promises.

Conclusion

This Statement of Faith reflects the biblical convictions upon which Our Call To Worship is founded. Every Bible study, course, article, and resource we develop is intended to remain faithful to the Holy Scriptures and to glorify God by proclaiming the Truth revealed through Jesus Christ.

We recognize that faithful believers may differ on many secondary matters of doctrine and practice. Therefore, while we seek to handle God’s Word with humility, diligence, and reverence, our desire is always to encourage deeper study of the Holy Scriptures, greater love for God, faithful participation in the local church, and a lifelong commitment to following Jesus Christ.

May everything we teach, study, and publish lead people to know God more deeply, love Him more faithfully, serve Him more wholeheartedly, and proclaim the hope of the Gospel until the day our Lord Jesus Christ returns.
